We went out today to cost our list of 102 things that we need (it continues to grow). We found some excellent stores in Badajoz and managed to get prices, or at least ideas for most of what we wanted. We didn’t really get far with the kitchen, but this is less important than the bathroom as we do to confirm what we are doing.

We also found just what we wanted in the way of light switches – I can’t believe that yesterday I was saying that these were less than interesting. These are the ones we are going to get – but at 20 or so euros each, we won’t be liberally scattering them around the house. There are matching sockets and we’ll certainly be looking to get these too.
When we got home we finally put pay to a mystery that has been bothering us – well me – for about two years. In the barn there are boxes of tiles and I was certain that we’d bought them with us and Ian was certain that a/ we hadn’t and b/ there aren’t any boxes of tiles. So – being inspired by mosaic (long story and I blame the fancy bathroom showrooms) I immediately went out to rummage through the barn and see what tiles we bought with us.
It transpires that they were not our tiles at all, but ones that the previous owner had left here. Some are not that great – but there is a box of terracotta floor tiles that have been taken up at some point – from the bathroom I guess. So, looks like these will be going back down again in the guest bathroom.
We also found a sink in the barn, and cleaned this up only to find that this will be perfect too AND we have a sink stand with it. We also have a pile of catalogs that we picked up today to work through. Who’d have thought that we’d move forward this far in just one day!!
