a brief update

We’ve been a bit lacking on the BLOG front, you’d have thought that now we were online at home (hoorah) we’d be Blogging every day, but now we no longer have to go too and fro to the library we can get on and do things at home which means we’ve been a bit distracted.

And we’ve both had colds. Well, mine was more like flu, and Ians a bit like a sniffle, but I struggled manfully on. One of us had to.

The weather has been pretty horrible, we were woken up one night at the weekend by hail battering against the back of the house. We’ve noticed that the locals have pieces of board that they put across their doors when it rains – chanelling the water away from the doors and windows, judging by the puddle inside the back door we should have done the same (and the dogs were away so can’t blame them).

Having relied on Private Eye for our news this last few weeks, we were a little disappointed to listen to the BBC again and find that it all sounds the same. Well I suppose we should be quite glad about that really.

Mum and Dad are coming to stay for two weeks from Thursday. I am meeting them at malaga airport and we’re getting the train to Cordoba. I am getting the train down from Llerena, so it will be interesting to see how it goes. Coming back we are going to get a train to Cordoba and Ian is going to pick us up there. However given our previous track record of trying to get to Cordoba, fingers crossed that it happens this time.

This weekend there is a carnival. This is the translation:-

In February we celebrated the carnivals, celebration that recovered as of years 80. Tuesday the famous burial of the sardine is celebrated, the city council is in charge to make the sardine that removes to shoulders by the streets from the town followed by the band from trompetas and drums until the municipal ship, where occurs the last good bye him, next the town offers a tasting of roasted sardines and came for all.
