Dark Mornings, Shooting Stars and Grapes

It’s this time of year when the darker mornings really become apparent. We’re probably used to it now, however the majority of our morning walk now happens in the dark and I think when the moon goes from the morning sky in a week or so, we’ll be back to taking a torch out with us.

That does mean that we see a lot of shooting stars. Admittedly, I don’t think we saw a huge number during the Perseus meteor shower last week – but we do see them regularly. Yesterday, I saw one that lasted long enough for me to tell Ian to look to the left to see the shooting star. Shame it was on the right…

Ian has a habit of manifesting shooting stars, he looks up and one shoots over. Just like a Disney film.

Daisy is now 6 months old. Here’s a picture of her when she was helping Ian to power wash the patio. Here she’s looking a bit bedraggled:

And here she’s looking a bit scary, but it’s not often we see her eyes!

And as an antidote to her looking scary – here’s a pic showing that she can be still and quiet – sometimes for seconds….

And it’s grape picking time! We’ve got a quite a few this year and they are very tasty. I’ve picked the first batch, but we have many more to come.

Ludvig is continuing to chatter away. He’s mastered ‘whistle for me’ and is now learning ‘I’m feeling happy’. ‘Whistle for me’ is the first thing he will learn in context as we can whistle back to him. Hopefully this will teach him that when he says certain words he can get a response.
