Probably because it was dripping fuel on the head of the man that stood in the pit checking the underneath of the car.
We have two months to get it fixed, but can’t use the car in the meantime, other than to go to the workshop and back – so I suppose if we needed to use the car urgently we’d just look for a workshop near where we needed to go and go there!
It was likely to cost a few hundred euro to mend in the garage, and that would put us in the position of do we spend that on the car or not. But happily after a bit of research, Ian found the bit he needed and has spoken to a mechanic in the village who knows someone else who can get the part for him – and lend him the wrenchey thing he will need to fix it.
So, if things go well, the car may be back on the road again later this week and for a lot less than we had feared.
It means we have missed Horace’s vet appointment this week, but that was just a checkup so it won’t matter.
Yesterday we had a tornado go through the patio. It bought with it a lot of plant debris, including grasses with evil pointy seeds which get into the dogs’ coats and cause havoc. They have all got them so we’re going to have to spend some time cutting them out of their fur. Rosey has them in her beard, so that will need to be trimmed too!
