For the first time since last Monday, Bobbins settled on her own in her bed and enjoyed an apparently relaxing sleep!
Bobbins improved significantly yesterday – so much so that when she went to the vet yesterday evening, they said that they didn’t want to see her again for two months, when they will review her anti-seizure medication. She’d improved all day, however when we were at the vet, it was like she took another little improvement spurt and walked in a straight line, sat down nicely… – really so close to normal behaviour, if someone didn’t know how poorly she had been, might have thought she was just being Bobbins.
The vet did say it was difficult to tell with Bobbins what brain damage, if any, she would be left with as many of Bobbin’s uniqueisms (for example running round in circles) are things they would look for as a sign of brain damage in a ‘normal’ patient.
Of course, we don’t know what caused the massive seizure, so that is a concern, however given how poorly she was last week it’s pretty amazing how she is now.
I guess now we’d like to see her pacing less, stop trying to eat anything that doesn’t move (including Wilbur’s nose, which fortunately he was too shocked by to react) and get back into a sleeping routine of sleeping during the night. But at the moment, it’s just important that she takes her own time – and I think she is chewing less, but I still don’t think I’d put my hand too close to her mouth 😉
