Cada Dia and Mini Golf

Ian was surprised to see that the local supermarket has turned into a Cada Dia, which is a small version of Dia supermarket0
3+6-. It is the same people who are running it, and I think they must have taken on a Dia franchise. I was thinking about whether this is good or bad news, and concluded that it must be good news because they obviously have enough confidence in the village to commit to a franchise, and likewise Dia must believe that they have a solid enough costumer base to allow them to take the franchise. The range of food is now different, but the costs are lower. One thing we don’t know is whether they will still stock local produce in the summer.

And I was surprised to see more building work by the padel court. On closer investigation it turns out that the council’s latest initiative is a mini-golf course! The village now has an outdoor gym, indoor gym, sports hall, tennis court, basketball/football court, volleyball court, padel court, so I guess they were getting pretty stuck for new things to build – but even so, mini-golf seems like a strange option. I can see it being popular, however, as it’s quite a social thing (plenty of chat opportunity without having to run around).

This does rather suggest that the village is in good shape – hopefully it will help to entice buyers.
