I’d read in the paper that a nearby beach was covered in driftwood – so we decided to go and take a look…
Only to find a disappointing lovely clean beach!

From this beach we could see what appeared to be a little port just round the corner and went to take a look.
The port is at the yellow star at the top of the map below:

It was a very pretty port, but I don’t think much happens there in the way of fishing. Although there were a few small boats that were tied up in the park.

There were a few seafood resteraunts, one being right on the beach, but look at the walls! I guess they expect to the sea to come visiting during high tide!

It was certainly a pretty place, but very much in the middle of nowhere with a single, one track road in and out. I imagine it’s a little different in summer and would be a great place for a weekend.

And this is the view in the other direction. Taken from the same place. Those are rocks, not pebbles and are part of the port wall. The beach we were on to start would have been at the end here.

So while we didn’t get any driftwood, we did get to visit somewhere new!
