Of course there is a story here. It started about 10.00 pm on Friday night. We were due at Grainger Street market in Newcastle on Saturday, for 7.45 a.m. So that entails getting up around 5.00.
The craft fare is the second Saturday of every month.
I remember thinking how strange it was that the May craft fare was on the first Monday of the month. We checked the web site that said – 2nd of the month. And I commented how strange it was for this to be wrong too.
Ian started to suggest that perhaps I was wrong. No… really! So eventually having accepted the fact that the craft fare was on the second of every month, the web site reiterated this and then after quite a lot of paper throwing about I found confirmation that… it was next week, we sighed a HUGE sigh of relief. Some how I am not sure that Ian would have found it funny if we had been up stacking the car with soap to arrive in Newcastle for 7.30 – but a week early.
So this sort of messed up Ian’s plans for next weekend.
But two phone calls later and we were booked to go the Isle of Bute to pick up a breeding pair of Angora rabbits. What an excellent day. We got lost in Glasgow, where they must have more roundabouts than is strictly necessary. We had a fantastic day, but long. Took Tinkerbelle with us in case the builders came round and she got out. She got mugged by a Glasgow tuffy dog (well not mugged as much as got growled at, but makes a good story!). It did make us sound a bit southern softey though when we were asking ‘Tinkerbelle’ if she was OK.
So anyway, hence why we have two angora rabbits in the stable and part of the grand master plan! Brilliant day, it took no longer than a couple of hours to get round to the coast by Arran and Bute. If we had avoided Glasgow it would have taken hours off of the trip. But hey, we’ll know for next time.
