Major step forward with the rewiring – we now have light downstairs! We cab switch the lights off and on from upstairs and down. Now there’s a thing! There was one nasty moment though, when Ian tried the lights and found they were not working, but after a few huffs and puffs, a quick read up of the book and then trying every connection eventually he found that it was a dodgey light switch. So this means floor boards can go back down upstairs and we’ll be able to start to sort ourselves out finally.
This morning as I was about to leave for work, found a builder on the drive way who was going to finish plastering the hole they knocked in the wall a few weeks ago linking the living room to the dining room through a doorway by the stairs. They do pick their moments – last time they turned up at about 7.30 on a Saturday! It looks good though and I am looking forward to us being able to get it all decorated now.
Bob been back to vets and has had blood test. Seems quite happy but still not quite ‘right’. Lambey is doing the Lambey shuffle, getting stronger but still can’t stand. One Horn and baby are doing well. She had the bright yellow poo which means that she is suckling, although we haven’t seen her do it. The yellower the better, this is something we found out early on.
Genghis has got his head stuck twice today in the fence, maybe he is not going to be the brightest button!
This evening we have been out collecting all the wire and fencing that is strewn around so we can work out what we have that we can patch some of our fences with. Let the angoras out for a while and the promptly tried to leg it, so will need to ensure that the fences are goat tight.
No sign of Amelias eggs hatching, I think they should be by now so perhaps they aren’t going to. Our ducklings are growing rapidly and I think we’ll free the mother hens who are getting a bit fed up with these gangly ‘chicks’ and put the ducklings in together. The gruesome twosome are also doing well and their feathers are beginning to come through properly.
I’m off now to admire the lights and flick a few light switches!
