Yesterday was another good day.
Firstly I invented nano hydro-electric power yarn.
Secondly we went to Sevilla and had another good day looking at things. Admittedly our list of 102 things has probably expanded rather than contracted, but saying that we’re sort of heading in the right direction.
We headed down to Sevilla during siesta, and it was just over an hour, door to door. We found an amazing store that is the biggest B&Q type store that you can imagine. However, it was still very Spanish. So lots of big wooden ceiling lights and some amazing bathrooms.
It seems the trend is for bathroom bits to be bought separately and baths are very much the exception. In fact, this store only had four baths and probably 70 sinks and goodness knows how many showers. The showers ranged from hand held – stick on the tap – showers to cubicles which had a phone installed!
There were lots of sinks that were, again, typically Spanish. Basically painted pudding bowls on stands, along with some high-fashion colored sinks.
I think the prices were quite good – although our light switches were 25 euros there (we’ve found them online for half of that).
The store was in a part of Sevilla that we’d not been to before, and quite honestly I’d really not have minded if Ian had left me there – for a couple of hours. There was a very modern trading estate that was surrounded by 1920’s warehouses that sold just about anything. So there was one that sold jamons, next to one that sold flamenco shoes, next to one that sold tiles, one that sold paint powder (yes, really) etc. Probably not a place to go at night but an Aladin’s cave during the day.
We did buy some stove paint as one of our stoves needs renovating, and we ought to make that a priority as it will need to be done before it is fitted. We’ve also had an idea about tiles – we might use glass tiles and tumble them in our concrete mixer. Let’s face it, it’s got to get used for something!!
Oh yes, nano hydro electric power yarn – simple. It is a yarn that is filled with water. Garments are knitted with this yarn. Movement makes the water move around the yarn in an oscillatory fashion – in effect making nano waves, which move little things up and down and this is turned into energy. Obviously there are one or two small things to sort out – but Dragon’s Den here I come….
