Beaches!

We went to Burela on Saturday and thought we’d go for a swim at Marosa beach, which is a surfing beach. We have been swimming there before and it was very nice – but that was before it got closed when a hammerhead shark was seen just off the coast.

However, it was low tide and the surfers were quite close to the beach, so we watched them milling around in the water for a while and then headed to Rueta, ‘our’ beach, instead.

We are very lucky with the beach at Rueta as it shallow until almost to the rocks sticking out on the left of the photo. It shelves up to about chest hight straight away, and then very gradually slopes from there so we can still touch the bottom right out in the middle!

Later in the afternoon we went to San Cibroa and went for a swim here. This was a busier beach – but still not super-busy.

It is so not-busy that this was the main street at 5pm on Saturday!

We’re sort of used to quiet Saturday afternoons now though as shops close at lunch time on Saturday, with the exception of the big supermarkets, so everywhere is pretty quiet on Saturday afternoon.
