Blackbeard Mystery

Ian found Blackbeard cowering in the dark in the dressing room. He picked him up and BB was shaking. He didn’t seem to be injured, but he was very shaken and was walking with a limp. Luckily, BB is very cuddly, so instead of taking himself a way, he was quite happy to have a couple of days of being carried around and eating sausages, and spending the rest of the time on our laps. I don’t know what happened to him – we think that he might have fallen off something – they aren’t the most agile of cats. We know he is better when we noticed that he was waiting for us to pick him up and put him on the fridge for his food, but would quite happily jump up there when we weren’t looking.

We went to the garden center yesterday and were quite taken with some of the large palm trees, trouble is we’d have no way of getting the huge ones home. I think they’d be expensive too. Little ones were 15 euros so perhaps we’ll get one of those. It was interesting to see that the large palm trees were growing in dustbins, so we wouldn’t need huge pots if we did ever succeed to getting one to grown that big. We were looking for bamboo to support our kiwi fruit trees that are going mad at the moment.

The weather is so hot, but the evenings are nice and we can sit outside until bedtime. I’m sundrying some tomatoes – I’ll keep you posted as to whether this is an excercise that works or just ends in a horrible mess!
