The lamb that last week I thought would drop dead at any moment has continued to prove me rather wrong. Yesterday she started to get up onto her feet, though could only manage a couple of steps before falling over. This had been in no small part achieved by bandaging and taping up the lower halves of her legs.
However this morning it was as if she’d spent the night practising walking. She was a bit ungainly and when I noticed one foot kept bending at the ankle awkwardly, I added extra tape to give a bit nore support. Strangely this didn’t really help and if anything started to make her worse.
Obviously at this point I decided to help her by restrapping her leg, so picked her up and removed the old bandage. Oddly at this point she tjumped up and ran to the far end of the room – yes our livestock are free to roam around the house. Any way it seems that the problems she was having with walking was down to me strapping her legs up.
Oh well, we live and we learn.
