This is what we saw when returning from Haydon Bridge. This is before the fire started to make it in our direction.
Our house is at the edge of the smoke towards the bottom on the right
The police etc looking quite relaxed before they had to evacuate the fell. A little later the road was blocked and there were fire appliances, police vehicles and a lttle worryingly ambulances, up and down the road.
