Mum asked if we were having less cheese feasts as I mention them less – the answer is actually the reverse! Since we’ve moved here we’ve found that local cheese represent excellent value so we’re always stocked up with a range of different cheeses. The big difference is that there are cows here and we didn’t see cows hardly at all in Extremadura, certainly not milk cows.
Another difference is bread – we are lucky to be able to buy reasonably priced local artisan bread which is different to the bread we got in Extremadura.
So our bread and cheese meals now have the benefit of being tasty as well as being tremendous value for money!
However, we did ‘import’ a Torta de casar, our favourite cheese from Extremadura for Christmas. We did the same last year and while it’s impossible to find locally, we can buy it direct from cheese makers in Extremadura.
Lastly – here’s Daisy showing that the new street lights mean she can play ball any time of day 🙂
