We went to a couple of Chinese bazaars last weekend, thinking we could look at their products for names of wholesalers who we could contact and there weren’t any 2mm hooks in store, but we did get the names of some wholesale distributors of crafty stuff anyway. Ian checked them out when we got back and got a quote from one, but their price was more expensive than the first people, 0.45 euro compared to .31 euro. Not huge in the overall scheme of things, but relatively a big increase. As we want to chop the end off them and put a small cap on the end, we want them to be as cheap as possible, so it was back to the drawing board.
We’d already looked at some of the big Chinese wholesalers, but they seem to offer just sets of crochet hooks – or deliver them by the tonne. Ian, however, managed to find a retail company which also sell wholesale who offered a good deal, so we are now awaiting delivery of 300 Chinese crochet hooks. The main drawback is time, it will take three weeks or longer for them to arrive – and we have to hope they fall under the customs radar too!
