We have let Davy out for a wander. We opened the cat flap, and also a window to let him out. He then spent most of the night walking in and out of the window, just proving to himself that it was possible. He would step out and step straight back again and kept doing this over and over again!
This rather reminded me of Ian, whose close proximity to shops has rather gone to his head, and he is popping down to the Co-op at all hours of the day to buy the odd item or two – again, just because he can. I can see that he is getting ready for the high life of living in a Spanish village.
The weather has cleared a bit, it has been incredibly hot and muggy, but rained a bit yesterday and it is definatley cooler. This is good as poor Basil has been feeling the heat a bit and has been looking for a cold spot in which to lie, we will dog-proof the back garden so he can lie out there, but I guess with autumn around the corner the weather will cool down now.
We have found internet access at the library and it’s free (unlike Cumbria which was £2.00) so this is excellent. Ian was huffed at yesterday as his phone went off in the library – for the second time that day. I did feel a bit sorry for him though, as his phone has only rung twice in the last 4 weeks and it seemed sods law that it would be in the library both times. Didn’t help that we were so unused to the sound of the phone we glared at other people first.
Well, I am off to Poole shortly, and Ian has an interview this afternoon. We are both applying for jobs and have details of recycling canvassers, who go round door to door on behalf of the council encouraging people to recycle more (it said in the paper that Bristol is way behind the country in general when it comes to recycling). I’ve also applied for a job as Technical Editor with Scrapbook Inspirations – something I am patently unqualified for, and indeed unsuitable for as I would only want temporary work, however it might be interesting to see if they had any freelance work going for contributors. Scrapbooking seems to encompass most crafts and would be interesting for a while.
