These are the silk cocoons I had bought for when mum and susan visited last summer. I decided I wasn’t going to use them as cocoons, so I degummed them. I should have taken a before and after pic as the interesting thing is I had dyed the cocoons some pink and some turquoise, however the turquoise came out of the silk during degumming. Now ‘all’ that remains is to spin it. I didn’t do a great job on the degumming, so I think I’ll spin a textured yarn to disguise the lumps!
