Explorers

We’ve been promising ourselves that we’d do some more serious exploring on the tracks on the other side of the road towards Llerena. We thought that the cycle ride we did a couple of weeks ago ought to join up with one we did a while back – but we weren’t 100% sure and maps don’t show the tracks and we can’t identify tracks accurately on Google maps either. We were hoping that instead of turning round as we did the other week, if we head off round the corner we would eventually pick up the track from our initial foray.

So, given that we were heading into unchartered territory and expecting we could be in for a long ride, we were well prepared – to the tune of three pasties.

We headed off, retraced our steps from the other week, turned the corner into unchartered territory and found ourselves almost exactly where we’d turned round on the other track. Here I am eating a pasty where we picked up the other track. This was markedly shorter and easier than we were expecting and we ended up being completely over pastied for the journey.

My ruffley scarf is coming on – it is fun watching the ruffles grow.
