This is where they were a nano second before I had my phone ready and camera on ☝️ (it’s not a very good pic as it was still quite dark)
I saw a boar cross the road, and unlike the last one I saw, it didn’t disappear into the woods to the side of the road. It just stood there at the side of the road. So as I was scrabbling to get my phone out and switch the camera on, a little thing came out and crossed the road too. I couldn’t work out what it was, as it was very small, but wasn’t the right shape for a rat. I realized it was a baby boar as it ran to the boar and then they headed into the wood. Then three more babies came and crossed the road, followed by another two and then one last one. As the last one headed into the wood, I was ready to take the photo 😂
I can only imagine they were very young as they were so small. And also they were a light brown in colour, where all the adults I have seen are very dark brown or black.
I also saw a little toad walk into the undercover area of our house. I think it caught a fly on the way through, as one minute there was a fly there and then it was gone. And I think it was too quick for it to have flown away. Ian has seen a toad here too, so I wonder if we have a guest?
But…. still not rabbits! We’ve not seen any rabbits since we’ve been here. I don’t think I’ve ever gone this long in my life without seeing a rabbit 🙂
