Happy Easter

Not one easter egg in the shops, nor any signs of easter bunnies.

There have been a number of parades, but we’ve not been out, thinking that these are probably a little more reverent than the carrying of a sardine. Tonight there is a vigil in the church (I think). When we came back from our walk earlier the church was open and they were cleaning out the bits of dead palms. The inside is pretty impressive – gold alters etc.

Interestingly, yesterday (good friday) we went out for our walk about 5.30 ish and didn’t see another sole. The bars were buzzing though. This is the first time we have seen the bars open in the afternoon. it was strange not to see anyone, as normally there are lots of people promenading in the afternoon.

The weather has been warm with a few rain showers, which has bought the plants on. Wish I could remember what I had planted. I know that some are lettuces, and we had a couple of lettuce leaves with our lunch the other day. I picked them as we ate, and then Ian pointed out that Davie had probably wee’ed on them, so we didn’t finish eating them. The orange tree now has flower buds and the fields around are a mass of poppies and purple flowers.

I did some hand dying earlier this week and dyed some wool pink, yellow and peach. And my hands are now the same colour. I am pleased with how it came out and it is great to be able to stick it straight on the line outside to dry.

My website is up – www.katepullen.com. Let me know of any mistakes please! This is supposed to be a portfolio site at the moment although it will back up the book when it comes out.

Happy Easter!
