While it hasn’t been a hot year, it’s been a dry one. I can’t remember the last time it rained, but I don’t think it’s rained since I’ve been doing summer classes. I’m not aware that it’s causing any problems, perhaps the influx of new resevoirs is helping stop water shortages. There certainly doesn’t seem to be any loss in water pressure at the moment.
Yesterday I noticed that Milly has a very long claw on her back paw, so long it is going round on itself. On further investigation, she seems to have a withered toe which is much shorter than the rest, and the claw doesn’t rub along the ground when she is on her regular run round the table, which keeps her nails trim.
Sam hasn’t had another fit, so while his old pattern of two together hasn’t returned, neither has the flurry he had earlier this year. He is jumpy at the moment because of the building work opposite and it is windy today, which always unsettles him. The wind seems to unsettle all the dogs, particularly the blind ones as it blows unfamiliar smells to them. I thought Queenie would be more unsettled, but she doesn’t seem unduly phased.
