In line with my promise to Kate, I shall be taking afull part in the development of this blog. Kate seems to think that I didn´t write very much on the last blog, but quite frankly I think that the statistics speak for themself. You only have to glance through to see my many entries; however don´t feel that you have to cofirm this.
We´re getting quite well settled in now and haven´t got much left to unpack now. We just need to finish sorting out the office/hovel and the future chill-out room, and install a few more lights. Everything´s looking great in place in our new home and some things that looked quite ordinary before look really quite special here.
I´ve got both the Mac and PC set up now and talking to eachother and I restarted work for my employers back in Penrith, Four Square, last week and thankfully there seems to be quite a flow of work coming through.
I´ll be further developing my own business plans for a web application business in the near future and hope to be launching by the end of April at the latest.
I´ve been keeping an eye on a few message boards for freelance designers so may find some work that way also.
The village is full of surprises and we´re now learning that we can get almost everything we want here without having to travel anywhere, though Llarena is just 4 miles away and has an impressive range of shops.
The language is, as expected, the hardest thing, though we´re communicating and everyone seems very friendly. I´ve managed to buy all the bits I needed to install a gas water heater and even managed to have some form of discussion about installation legislation, so I feel if I can do that, I can probably communicate most things.
We´re hoping to be online at home soon so will then be able to keep this blog updated more regularly and also speak to the UK cheaply, particularly with those who have broadband as we´ll be installing Skype, meaning free calls to other Skype users in Europe and beyond. I´ll also be launching an alternative blog at that point, but more about that later.
Better go now. I´ve got a list of things to do for Four Square and also want to pop into Llarena before tea.
