Jerte Valley

After eight years, we’ve finally made it to the Jerte Valley to see the spring cherry blossom. It’s one of the first traffic jams we’ve experienced in our time here and the photo does not do it justice.
The terraced valley was impressive on its own right, but the endless trees covered in white blossom topped it off nicely.
It was quite a windy road so we drove to the far end of the valley, which must have taken us close to the snow line, then turned around and drove back. It must have taken two hours and we finally found a picnic spot by a reservoir where we started.
Obviously, the presence of a reservoir means that it now ranks as a prospective future home.
