We’ve accepted an offer on Mineral House and the buyers want to be in by the end of August, by the 26th in fact so we are now pressing ahead with packing. We were talking about starting to pack anyway, so even if something does go wrong it is a job that has to be done.
Still not sure what our next step will be, what we’d like would be to be able to head off and start looking at houses in Sept, however with there still being limited interest in Bridge End then we need also to consider this. We have advertising going in the Newcastle Journal this coming weekend for that, and we put advert in the Penrith paper this weekend but were disaoppointed not to get any response.
We’ve narrowed our search for houses to the south of Spain, to Almeria, and we have seena fruit farm which very much took our fancy, but have yet to hear back from the agents with one or two questions we had – for instance ‘is it habitable’!
Ian has found a rather nice camper van in Haltwhistle which is for sale and has been converted to LPG, which will be cheap to run – but need to check out availability in Spain.
We’re about to draw up an action plan, which includes all the things we need to do like sort out rabies injections for the dogs, open a spanish bank account etc.
Went to Pot Fest this weekend and came home with a burning desire to get the kiln out – perhaps we’ll wait till we’ve moved though!!
