This is a dish called ‘MOROS Y CRISTIANOS’.
The black beans represent the Moors and the white rice the Christians. Hmmm…
Anyway – the interesting thing (which Ian says are the most scary words – after ‘I have an idea’) is that it is a race (is it?) ie the Moors and a religion ie the Christians. Why not the Moors against the Europeans…. Anyway we had quite a long conversation about this and don’t have an answer.
Saw a tornado yesterday – a little tiny one, but it was a proper twister. Was quite impressive for something a little less than 2 foot in hight!
Kittens eyes now opening up properly and theu look more normal. They are definitely NOT CUTE when their eyes are opening – think Zombie Kittens.
Basil went to the vet yesterday as he has bad dandruff which we were worried might be mange. It’s not – but we do have a special shampoo for him (which the vet gave us as it was out of date). We washed him today and he was fine – I think because it is hot now it is quite cooling for him.
Bob’s diet is going well, he is not showing any weight loss yet, but he is really enjoying his walks. We’ve been going out first thing in the morning and then stopping in for a coffee at Tony and Montse’s bar in the centre. We’re still home by 9 so it doesn;’t encroach into the day at all – and by doing it first thing we don’t have a chance to talk ourselves out of it during the day.
