I heard the baby owls for the first time last night, and again this morning when I was in the barn. The adult owls or have been very active over the last few days – well at least we have been seeing more of them, so it looks as though we do have another family in there.
I passed my City and Guilds felt making course which I was pleased about. Although I wasn’t that fussed about it, it seemed a shame for the paper work to have let me down. As it turned out I didn’t need to do that much so all was well. This will be useful if I want to run feltmaking courses when we finally move.
One of the people who came out to see the house at the weekend is interested in putting in a fishing lake. They are coming out again this weekend to measure the gradients etc. We’ve also got someone coming out this weekend who have seen the house on acountrylife.com.
Bridge End is still a concern. Our barn tennants move out this weekend. Ian has spoken to the planners about splitting the deeds so we can sell it as two seperate properties. Jeremy says that dropping the price won’t be any good as although there are lots of people ‘looking’ very few are in a position to move. It’s just waiting for that allusive ‘one’ to come along. He did say that three sales have just been completed in Garrigill so we’ll then be the only ones on the market there which might work in our favour. Splitting the deeds will be good though as it does mean we can offer two lower priced properties which ought to fit in with the local plan. However planners do seem to have a will of their own…..
