Queenie feels better

Queenie is feeling much brighter now. The biggest problem is that she can’t navigate the house well with the lampshade on her head. The lampshade also holds down her big ears. We went to the vet in Zafra as he has developed a key hole technique which he uses to neuter them, he does a lot of work for the animal rescue places who live in kennels and they can’t look after the dogs when they are recovering like dogs in a house, so he developed this technique to make it easier for the wounds to heal. Certainly Queenie’s scar looked very clean and the stitches will be out on Wednesday, so very quick.

Queenie was very miserable when we bought her home, however after one night she was back to her normal self. She has discovered she can use her lamp shade to bash Rosie with during their play fights.

The vets haven’t said anything about Bobbin’s eyes yet, but there’s no rush. I can’t believe we’ve only had her for four weeks – it feels like much longer – in a good way! She is very easy to look after and is more robust than Millie who we have to keep an eye on – not least because Milly never makes a sound so we don’t know if she is ‘lost’ or somewhere she can’t get out of. Bobbins is very well behaved (at the moment) and is so easy to pop away in her puppy crate if we can’t supervise her. She’s not so great on the house training side of things, but she’s only recently been able to get up and down the step outside so it’s early days. Unlike Millie, Bobbins is very happy letting us know where she is – and very happy to let us know when it is meal times, with enthusiastic barking and ungainly jumping up and down, which generally results in her tumbling over.
