We had proper rain yesterday. The sort of rain where six months of rain falls in about three seconds! I think the village drains got blocked somewhere along the line as the water wasn’t draining from our drain, which was clear. Although the water got to the stop of the back step and a bit splashed over, but it didn’t come through the house as it used to before we got the back step built.
Percy needed to get his vaccination updates so we went to the vet Monday morning, but the vet wasn’t there. We had arrived at exactly the same time as a man with another dog. Both our car and his pulled up at the same time. The vet isn’t by appointment, it’s first come first served and to get to the vet’s office, we have to walk up quite a long driveway. It can be quite a wait if the person in front is having something lengthy done, so it’s always good to get in first
So, we both rushed to get out of the car before the other man and up the driveway. Picture if you will, Ian and I walking up the driveway trying to subtlety speed up without looking like we were racing this poor man with us ending up ‘nonchalantly’ power walking! Anyway, the vet wasn’t there, so we did a much less hasty walk back down the driveway.
When we returned in the evening, it was a terrible case of deja vu as the same man arrived exactly the same as us again. Happily, due to our subtle power walking techniques we’d honed that morning, we managed to get in before him again!
Percy wasn’t very happy getting his vaccination – I can’t help think he’s really not going to be very happy when he gets his chip. Poor little fellow!
