Rosie Through the Looking Glass

Rosie is becoming very aware that over the last four months everything around her has shrunk quite significantly. When she arrived she was a little smaller than Henry. Now Henry has shrunk so he is a fraction of her size. She also used to be able to stand underneath Wilbur and chew his neck. Now Wilbur has shrunk to her size, making her strategy for the game of chew no longer quite so effective. Even her puppy cage has shrunk past all recognition. Where she used to be able to turn around in it and only took up about a third of it, she now cannot really fit in it at all. Not through lack of trying, however it has shrunk so her head or a random limb or two pokes out the end.

Rosie thinks it is all very unfair. She used to be able to run with the others, do nifty turns and nip in and out of table legs. Now, everything is so small that she gets tangled up and told off for knocking into things when it is patently not her fault that everything has shrunk. She’s not even allowed to sit on the back of the sofa with the others now, in case with it’s new-found small size, she manages to tip it over. She gets banished outside for getting tangled up in wires – something that would never have happened if everything had stayed the same size.

It’s all very confusing….
