This is the small town which is about 3 km to the north of us. The opposite direction to Burela.
It has two names, because one is in Spanish and the other in galician. It is a very pretty town, with an old center, with interesting merchants style houses. The main Square backs on to the sea front, however all the houses face inwards because they were merchant houses rather than seafaring houses.
The town is famous for its mermaids and the legend behind the mermaid. Is she good or is she bad. Every year in august, the times people get together and decide whether or not she’s a good mermaid or a bad mermaid. If she is a good mermaid they have a party and if she is a bad mermaid they have a party!
There is definitely a mermaid theme running through the town.

We have also noticed there are a lot of statues.

Although the last one is a bomb not a statue ?

Waves!
There has been a yellow and orange weather warning for waves. That’s been quite interesting to see. These photos are on the way to Burela.

…and we have a new light! Well, new old light. It is one we got from a charity shop in Haltwhistle, but now Ian can stand upright without banging good head ?
