Vets

After earlier in the year when we went months without a visit to the vet, we’ve been going almost weekly for the last month or so with one animal or another. Happily, most are on the mend. Tinks is  120% better, Alfie has shown no further signs of having any seizures or there being anything wrong with him and Anubis is putting on weight. However now Pirata has an urine infection which means he needs special food and poor Primrose has jaundice which is a sign of something but we don’t know what. I really hope she gets better as she is one of the nicest cats I’ve known – and by now we’ve known a few! Pirata had to take some antibiotics, however they were antibiotics for children and were banana flavoured and he did not like it – at all! So much so he would spit it out, and if he accidentally swallowed any, he’d retch it back up again. Ian had to go back to the vet and ask if we could have something to inject him with as Pirata was getting no benefit from the banana medicine at all. The vet gave us a single injection which lasts for 15 days, so that is a lot better.

The forecast rain came – but still not a lot. We were sat outside on Monday night – at about half past nine, commenting on the clear sky. We’d just finished tea – took the things inside an not a minute later there was the sound of heavy rain. Goodness knows where that had come from as the sky was so clear just minutes before! It rained a little yesterday afternoon too – Ian had to dodge the drops at doggy tea time.
