The nighttime curfew has been lifted which means we can now go out after midnight – while that won’t make a huge difference to us, as we move into the summer when people start living a semi-nocturnal life, I am sure many will be happy!
The 6 month state of alarm has now ended, but that doesn’t really made any difference as the main reason it was there was to allow principalities (ie Andalucia, Extremadura) to act independently – and I think it’s been agreed that on things like shutting borders can still be done on a local level. The key difference is people can travel from principality to principality for ‘fun’. Before, while you could travel to another principality for work, see family (not suggesting that that’s not fun, of course 😉 ) etc, we couldn’t travel to somewhere in Andalusia for, say a picnic. The principalities can also set limits on numbers of people meeting in gatherings.
We asked an architect who also acts as an estate agent in Llerena to come round and tell us if he thought he could sell the house – and give us a price. He was pretty underwhelming – so much so that it’s over a week later and he still hasn’t got back to us! I’m assuming that either he’s busy talking to prospective clients about what he can do with the house – or he doesn’t feel he can do anything. I fear it may be the latter. His friend owns the field behind us as he referred the architect to us with great enthusiasm, so I wonder if the architect felt obliged to see us because of his friend.
Other than that, we’re getting close to the end of the asparagus season – it’s been pretty steady this year and hopefully we’ll have a few good-ish weeks left, where we can get together enough for a topping on toast if nothing else…
