What a super moon!

Last night, when we put the animals out for their before-bed wander, we noticed that the moon was very big and very golden. So we walked down to the beach to look at it from there.

Unfortunately – it was behind the headland when we were down on the beach itself, but it did mean we were able to see the stars – and also see how very low the tide was.

Walking back up from the beach, however, we could see the moon again. After several false starts when I had the camera facing me rather than the moon, I was able to take some fuzzy photos!

Earlier in the day, we went shopping in San Cibrao and then turned left and went to the beach just round the corner.

Although you can’t really see it in the photos, the tide was very far out – we went for a swim and we were walking for what felt like kilometers before we were even up to our knees! I think we could have walked to Moras which is the fishing port by the sea wall without getting out of our depth!

Onions!

While our onion crop perhaps wasn’t as large as we’d have hoped (the onions themselves are quite small), it will certainly keep us going for a while!

And this is just a nice photo of a hydrangea which is in the front garden. I think it’s an old plant, and is quite unruly and is in a weedy part of the garden, however it does grow some big flowers, so I guess we need to read up on how to look after them.
