Wilbur seems to have aged quickly over the last few weeks. Well, perhaps longer, but it’s become more apparent. He is 12, which is a good age for his size and rough start in life. He’s having trouble with his back legs so there’s not too much we can do about that other than help him when he needs help.
For a few years I’ve been giving him glucosamine as he had a fall a while back and it was to help his joints after that – but I kept him on it as we know it worked wonders with little Herbie. He has it in a spoonful of yogurt which he rather likes. He has this at lunch time and he used to come and wait if he feels we’re taking too long getting it. He occasionally does now, but is more likely to wait for us to bring it to him.
I (apparently) say ‘Hey Wilbs’ when it is yogurt time. I know this because Ludvig now does it! When he hears the fridge door open after lunch and me get the yogurt out, Ludvig shouts ‘Hey Wilbs’ every time.
Of course, it doesn’t help when Wilbur gets caught up in rush hour by the back door!
