This is the name of the band that Ian went to see at the weekend. I didn’t go. A couple of reasons why – firstly when we go out together we can end up talking together rather than to other people, not by choice you understand – it’s just easier! Also, my ankle hurts if it gets knocked so we need to sit down, which means we are less likely to circulate. Secondly, the band did two sets, with the first – the family set, starting at 1. Now, seeing that the 1 hour change in clocks is inclined to knock my dysfunctional body clock out of sync for weeks, this strange semi-nocturnal life just gives me the symptoms of sleep deprivation for the next few days (this isn’t anything new, the first time I went to Hong Kong the only proof I have that I was there was a postcard I bought, as I was rendered into an uncomprehending daze for er, days. [note: unlike when I went to Paris with Mum and was rendered into an uncomprehending daze through too many travel sickness pills…])
However all that aside, we do try to make an effort to meet people, and the local band playing at disco tony’s was going to be the ‘must see’ event of the summer so Ian drew the short straw and was sent out to have fun on his own. As he went out at 12.30, he was able to join in with people just coming back after they’d been home for their tea. The band started hopefully with a couple of bars of Deep Purple, however reverted back to passadobles for the first set, getting into flamenco rock in the second set. I won’t mention what time Ian came home – let’s just say I was able to join him and several others in the bar after I had taken the dogs out for a walk in the morning. They were sat in there drinking coffee and eating pastries. Ian was both standing and making sense, which is always a good sign!
The drink of choice now is tinto de verano (wine of summer) which is wine and something called blanca which I think is like a cream soda. This makes a long drink which is consumed in great quantities.
During the evening, Ian had found someone who was interested in two kittens, they wanted to know if they were friendly – which of course he was able to affirm. However we haven’t seen them yet…
