Wood – But Not Driftwood

The wood has arrived which Ian ordered to make the gate and fence at the front of the house. This will be good as it means we can finally take down the table at the front of the house, which will make the front garden not only secure, but make it look less like Steptoe and sons have set up shop.

The plan is that we will park the car at the end of the garden. So the fence and gate will be on the house side of that. This means we don’t have to open the gate for the car, so will be more secure for cats and dogs.

Ian is starting now and has put the posts for the fence in already.

Ian is also building steps and a gate which will go to the top bit of garden – this will be good as it means it will be easier to get to (I’ve purposely let the opening by the road to the top bit of garden get overgrown with brambles and nettles as Daisy can get over that wall, so hopefully the brambles etc would put her off getting into the road. However, that also means it’s quite painful to walk though! The steps will go up in front of the barn – between the barn and horrier.

Neolithic Beer

Before we moved we were given some Neolithic beer. It is brewed by a company in Barcelona and the story is that they were able to work out the formular of beer drunk in Neolithic times from a recently excavated cave and they reproduced it. It was a bit sweet – but quite nice all the same.

Percy Looking Handsome

…and a photo of Percy! That’s a face to bring a smile 🙂

Daisy got the all-clear at the vet and doesn’t need to wear her lampshade any more, which I think we’re all happy about!
