Wool Fest Review

Wool Fest was excellent. So excellent in fact that Emma and I were soon in a frenzy of excitement and decided that we could think of no sign which better demonstrated our true love for our men, then knitting them a pair of hand knitted socks. So caught in a wooly enthusiasm the smallness of the needles – and the fact that at one stage you need to knit with 5 did not phase us.

Even better than the hand knit socks were the clear plasic boots and shoes that you can buy to show your socks off. An absolute necessity and I am certain that Ian will be looking forward to his birthday.

Ian took the shine slightly off things when he pointed out that working at minimum wage and should the socks take 10 hours each then the pair of socks would have cost a total of £100. As they are likely to take longer than this he has a point – and definately will be wearing his under clear boots – or hanging them on the wall.

There were loads of good things at the show and it was a really high quality event. It was the first that they have done and it def. bodes well for the future.

We were all taken with weaving sticks but didn’tbuy any as we were promised that they were easy to make – we will see!

The weather has been fine and I have filled the pond up again today. This is the third time this year and I only filled it up once last year – so it must be drier. No sign of any rain yet – but I think it is on its way. We missed the weekend storms.
