The roofing work commenced on Monday as planned, with the roof on Kate’s workshop being removed. It’s lovely and light in there now and only marginally wetter than before.
Moments after taking this shot, our electrics tripped. Kate had asked Manuel before he left if the electrics had been covered and he looked thoroughly shocked by the suggestion that he wouldn’t have thought of this. ‘I am a professional!’ he proclaimed. However on closer inspection he actually hadn’t covered them so I disconnected what didn’t need to be connected and covered a couple of junction boxes.
An hour later he returned, in a professional manner, to explain that he’d just remembered, in a professional manner, that he hadn’t covered the electrics. We do like Manuel and think very highly of his work, but do sometimes worry that he has rather too many senior moments for a man in his thirties.
Kate says she wants to keep a record of the roofing work, but the pic she took below suggests she’s more interested in keeping a record of the new young builder’s backside!
