We both needed our pics taken for different reasons. Ian wanted a new picture because he is re-doing his website hoping to attract work, I need a new pic for about.com. ian wanted to look intelligent, enigmatic, friendly and artistic.
I said I’d settle for having both eyes open.
I took Ian’s pic in about 3 seconds; my photo took Ian most of the morning to take and we came close to blows – several times. I have an expressive face and I have a unique ability to pull the most amazing faces – what would appear to be all the time. The about.com pic wasn’t allowed to be touched up either, so I had not only to try to keep both eyes open, not pull a face or grimace, I also had to ensure that I was reasonably wrinkle free. I’m a little surprised that we managed to come of it unscathed and still speaking.
The glasses Ian is wearing are in fact blanks. I tried wearing them for my pic, but they were lopsided and I ended up looking like Eric Morcombe.
