Another Evie update & the house is tidy for a day.

Well, I am delighted to report that Evie today was on her legs, so OK I was holding her up, but her legs were down and her back legs were definately working. This morning when I went to see her I couldn’t find her – which was a horrible moment, but realising she could not get out of the cellar – nor could anything else get in, I had a better look and she had made her way into the corner. I expect this was by rolling, however it shows that she is determined to get up which I am reading as good news. I just need to keep a close eye on her, as I don’t think it is good for ruminants to spend time on their side, or worse their back, and Evie finds herself in these positions when she topples over.

Yesterday Jeremy was due round to give us a valuation on the house. So we stopped work Tuesday night having finished the spare room, and yesterday morning I had a frenzied whizz around, turning the house from a building site into a des res. Of course, Jeremy was a neighbour of ours at Bridge End, therefore was very aware of the fact we do not live in minimalist splendor, however we thought we would make an attempt and get rid of some of the more unpleasent debris. So by 12 o clock I was ready, and frightened of moving in case I got dust onto the newly polished floor, and we then got a call to say he couldn’t make it after all. Grrrr.

Well, too bad as today I am getting some Mrs Scrub stuff ready to go into the five Made in Cumbia stores. I am due to drop some things into the Carlisle store yesterday and therefore need to get them ready today. Ian is making the labels and I am pleased with what I have. I have been scratching my head over pricing, as Made in Cumbria take 40% for stocking the product. We’ll see how it goes.

And lastly, there are three baby rabbits with Crumpet, two browny black and one reddy colour. They are still in the furry jelly bean stage though, and it will be another couple of weeks before they start to look like rabbits.

  1. Getting worried …. the little bedroom looks immaculate, but where are the quails? Getting worried as we shall be at Min House in a week and a bit and are wondering if we will be able to sleep with numerous quails under the bed!!!
    Keep up the good (house)-work!
