Still more rain!

I don’t think it has stopped for a fortnight now. Seems hard to believe we were eating outside when M & D were here – and indeed that Dad could get out strimming, now he would need wellies and a boat!

We found that one of our fences is down, where it crosses the stream. The stream obvioulsy at one point had become a raging torrent and the force of water and debris has bought about 10 metres of fencing down. Luckily it is between our land and the land with the derilict on, and we know that that land is animal proof so we don’t have too many worries about sheep escaping.

We have a duck with a bad foot or leg. One of the 9 ducklings that went outside. It is now in the stable where we can keep an eye on him, but it is not getting any better and it is having problems getting around. Can’t see what the problem is so we’re just watching it at the moment.

We’ve put the three bigger quails into the stable too, last night was their first night and they seem quite happy. We are still trying to establish how high they can jump.

The 9 chicks that we have in the spare bedroom are all getting on well and growing. Proper feathers are coming through on all of them. Daft quail’s neck seems to be easing up, although it has not been put back in with the others. It is still with the Guinea fowl chick.

Work at the flat is coming on well, with the bathroom too now wall papered (almost) and this is improving the overall view of the flat immensly.

Plans for this weekend are more work on the flat and starting on getting Mrs Scrub’s room here up together for a planned relaunch.
