Well Ian was quite right, I arrived home from a few days in Swanage to find the chicken shed full of chicks! There are quite a lot of little white ones with a couple of browns. The evil mother hen certainly looks after her chicks, this morning she was attacking the water bottle as I put it in for them.
We saw three young owls on Saturday night. The parents were going out hunting and bringing things back for the young. We could see the young in the nest, but they have not stuck their heads out yet.
I took Tinks down to Swanage and she was a very good dog. Quite subdued really, not eating much and being quiet. She has remembered how to be annoying though when we got back, eating the others food and trying to play with them when they are asleep! She slept on the train in both directions and I did not need to give her any sleeping tablets.
Ian made me a pair of broomstick knitting needles yesterday – literally. From this you will gather that I am not spinning lace weight yarns yet! I did spin some Herdwick wool which made a rather interesting grey yarn which would be quite hardwearing.
It is looking very overcast outside this morning, so perhaps we will be having some overdue rain today.
We had three viewings on Saturday plus one ‘no-show’. We had a second viewing on Sunday. There is one planned for tonight at 6 too, so we’ll be keeping fingers crossed that we get some postive response. (We had three offers from last weeks viewings – one we rejected and the other two were from people yet to sell their own places and therefore would be unable to proceed).
