The rain continues! While it’s a good thing, it’s a bit boring now and hampering our asparagus hunting activities 🙂 So I wonder if it will mean that this is a bumper year or a very bad year. Looks like it will be Wednesday before we head out and have a look, as high winds are forecast for today and where we go asparagus picking is quite high up.
Some of the young children in my class were highly excited because they had seen a rainbow last week – and I forget how unusual they have been with the lack of rain. The little ones can quite possibly have never seen a rainbow before.
The rain and wind had conspired to fill the chimney pipe from our stove with water, so Ian spent much of yesterday morning cleaning that out so when we lit the fire, it was less like a smokey sauna.
It will be interesting to see what this rain has done to the resevoirs.
Oh, and we noticed it had been raining in Kenya too. The two ponds are now almost one and I can see little patches of water in the background, so I wonder if that means we will see less animals, as waterholes may have filled up elsewhere..
