This is Horace. He is a little white Maltese puppy. He is blind and deaf. He is very different to Charlie (our collie pup), who is very self-sufficient. Horace is completely blind, however we think he hears some loud noises. However we’re not quite sure what noises he hears and what he doesn’t hear, he doesn’t hear voices, but seems to react to vibrating sounds. We are trying to discover a noise that we know he hears that we can make as a signal that we going to pick him up or as a signal that we are close to him.
Horace is probably our biggest challenge to date. While Herbie was completely blind and deaf, he was older and literally streetwise. Horace is a little scrap of fluff who is currently unsure of everything.
He is the size of a guinea pig, with extraordinary short legs!
