Last year the swimming pool was closed for the summer. This was a mix of covid and a lack of water – so it is good news on both accounts that the swimming pool is open this year.
It opened on Saturday, and we could hear the music, but this year we have noticed we can’t hear the bongs, so they must have a different communication system. It was always a bit Hi-Di-Hi out there, as we would here the bongs followed by an announcement. Feeling nostalgic for the bongs already!
The weather has been quite hot, so the swimming pool would have opened at the perfect time.
This year I cleared a bit of the outdoor yard to plant some tomatoes. I had planted all sorts of seeds, but as usual, I was left staring forlornly at empty pots after carefully watering them for weeks. So we ended up buying some tomato and pepper plants. The peppers aren’t doing much, but it does look like we’ll have some tomatoes this year. Which is the first time for a long time. The rain earlier this year looks like it’s had a positive effect on our apple and pomegranate trees. This year they appear to have fruit which is larger than a very small cherry!

Daisy was still a puppy here , and of course, we still had Rosie. It’s funny how our perceptions change. Charlie looks small in this pic, walking behind Rosie, yet today she is one of the ‘big dogs’. Wilbs is a lot bigger, but he spends most of his time laying down, so we don’t get the comparison.
