I remember when all this used to be stars…

In the summer we have tremendous night skies. One day we’ll treat ourselves to a telescope, but at the moment we just look unmagnified at the sky and can see all sorts. I think I mentioned before that we sometimes see the ISS space station, however something that we’ve seen a lot of over the last couple of days is the Iridium satellites which flare as they go past. A tremendous burst of light comes as their solar panels catch the sun’s rays. Last night we saw three go past. It made me wonder if in years to come the night sky would be a heaving mass of satellites and spacestations and whether people would remember the good old days when the sky was just full of stars.
