We really do! This is a reservoir which was flooded, I guess about 7 or 8 years ago. It’s out towards Feria, and we would definitely have seen it as fields before it was flooded. It’s now a substantially sized body of water and we have been there for a picnic a couple of times and we went for a picnic while Horace was getting his hair cut. It takes a little longer for Horace to get his hair cut as he is sedated, but it’s always a debate whether to go home and literally turn round and go back again, or do something else.
So this time we thought we’d visit this reservoir while we waited. The water level was high, but I think this is part of a managed system of reservoirs, where they are filled from reservoirs further upstream (I guess, in this case quite literally).
And here’s Horace looking very smart after his hair cut. This time he came round quite quickly and was fine, but last time he was very distressed after the sedation and it did take him over a day really to get back to normal (Horace style), so I was pleased that this wasn’t the start of a trend.
