Yikes

What a longtime since I wrote a blog post. I’d like to say it is because we’ve been busy doing exciting things. But instead we’ve been busy doing relatively boring things – including taking some online courses to learn about marketing in the digital age which is surprisingly interesting.

We’ve had a couple of weeks of rain, which I think is long overdue. I can’t remember when we last had such a rainy spell, maybe two years ago? Last year and all this winter has been very dry. But now when we look at the weather forecast we just see a sea of little sunny faces, so hopefully that’s it now. Hopefully there’ll have been enough rain to get the growing season off to a good start.

Of course, being Extremadura, it went from rain to HOT and we sat outside to have lunch yesterday and promptly started moaning about the heat!

It’s trimming time, but we only have the three dogs now that need trimming, Sam, Tinkerbelle and Dumpling. Millie and Alfie do need an occasional trim too, but their hair is so fine we trim them with scissors.

Later today we’ll be heading into the country to see if last week’s rain and yesterday’s heat has resulted in a bumper harvest of asparagus!
