Ludvig keeping cool on the fan!
We’re in the midst of a heatwave. I think this is the second or third this year. Temperatures went to 46 in Badajoz – which is pretty hot, and the highest ever temperatures have been broken every year now for the last three years. However, in reality it really doesn’t make a whole lot of difference as the difference between 42 which is relatively common and 46 doesn’t really register much as it’s just HOT! It’s like the difference between -6 and -10 – it’s just very very cold!!
Obviously we watch the animals and I was putting the Lovebirds into the hallway by the back door during he day, which I don’t when it’s very hot. But all of our animals now are pretty good and watch themselves in the sun. It was Bob we used to have to watch who’d go out sun bathing during the middle of the day.
Of course our car doesn’t have air conditioning and the window on the passenger side doesn’t open, so doing out is unpleasant during a heat wave – but it is any time during the summer really so we’re not inclined to use the car much.
The sprouted carrot tops were not a success! The lovebirds just ignored them. Strange as they are normally quite inquisitive and will enjoy shredding things, even things they don’t recognize, and they will turn a carrot into a pile of orange crumbs in the space of a heartbeat – but sprouted carrots, apparently, are not the same!
